Oteng Keabetswe

We are proud to introduce Oteng Keabetswe, a talented creative artist from Tutume, Botswana.

Oteng had a passion for art from a young age, and pursued it as an optional subject throughout his secondary and senior school years, which he passed with the highest grade. He also developed an interest in science and went on to study Chemistry at the University of Botswana.
Oteng continued to develop his artistic skills, experimenting with different mediums and techniques while being inspired by nature and the rich cultural heritage of Botswana and Africa.
His first exhibition at the prestigious Thapong Visual Arts Center in Gaborone was well-received by both critics and art enthusiasts alike, which led to further opportunities such as his participation in the Francistown Arts Meeting with established artists like Wilson Ngoni.
Oteng’s pencil works are characterized by their attention to detail, intricate shading, and striking use of contrast. Each piece is a masterful display of skill and technique that moves and
challenges the viewer.

His work can be found in private collections across Botswana and beyond,
making him an important voice in the contemporary art scene. We invite you to join us at 1966 Art Gallery to experience Oteng’s stunning works for yourself.
