Early Beginnings:
A Spark Ignited Her journey into the world of art began in sixth grade when a simple classroom assignment ignited her creative spark. In awe, she discovered her artwork being picked as the finest in the class, a moment that would forever change her life. From that day on, Amantle embarked on an exhilarating odyssey of experimentation with patterns and art forms.
Discovering Zentangle Art
As she delved deeper into her newfound passion, the term “Zentangle Art” emerged during an online search for inspiration. This revelation led her to join her school’s art club, setting the stage for a lifelong love affair with art. She decided to make art a fundamental part of her academic journey, earning accolades and top honours, including a prestigious first place in the Botswana National Art Fair for Secondary Schools.
Art as a Sanctuary
But art meant more to Amantle than just awards and recognition; it became her sanctuary, offering solace and a channel for her introspection. As an introvert struggling to build connections, art became both a confidant and a voice for her emotions. In the dance of creation, she discovered a profound connection with herself.
Emotional Journey Through Art
Amantle notes that her art isn’t just a visual experience; it’s an emotional journey. Her pieces are born from intuitive responses, a conversation between her soul and the canvas. Through her art, she aspires to share a sense of peace, freedom, and joy with all who engage with it. Each stroke tells a story of unseen places, the essence of humanity, and narratives that stir the soul.
A Passion Reignited
Her love for art grew to the point where she dreamt of pursuing it professionally in college. Yet, her parents, driven by practicality, steered her in a different direction. It was a heart-wrenching decision, but she obliged. However, the passion for art never truly left her.
Returning to the Canvas
During her final year at university, a relentless longing to create led her back to the canvas. Armed with supplies and YouTube tutorials, she taught herself the art of painting abstract masterpieces. In 2022, she made a pivotal choice to transform her beloved hobby into a thriving profession, birthing “Amantle Mokoka Art.”
First Exhibition Success
As the year drew to a close, she held her first mini art exhibition at Pretoria’s Atlyn Shopping Centre. To her astonishment, every painting found a new home, solidifying her journey as a professional artist.
A Force in the Making
Her journey is proving that she is a formidable force and a powerhouse in the making. We can’t wait to see where her artistic creativity and passion take her.
